The notorious videotape that shows rocker Tommy Lee and his ex-wife Pamela Anderson having sex will cost an Internet pornography company nearly $1.5 million.
That's because a Los Angeles court revealed Tuesday that Lee and Anderson won a default judgment for their copyright infringement and invasion of privacy lawsuits Internet Entertainment Group, reported Reuters News Service.
The couple filed the suit in 1998 because IEG allegedly sold the tape over the Internet.
U.S. District Judge Dean Pregerson awarded individually awarded both Anderson and Lee $740,000 from the company, plus court costs and attorney's fees.
The judge initially threw out the suit in November 1998, ruling that the couple had signed away its rights to the so-called "honeymoon tape," according to Reuters. But, an appellate court overturned that ruling.
The default judgment came because IEG has failed to turn up in court or defend itself in the matter, Reuters reported. Pregerson issued a written ruling in the case last week, but the results of it were not made public until Tuesday.
Anderson filed for divorce from Lee in 1998. They reunited in 1999 and split for good in 2000.
Anderson became engaged to musician Kid Rock in April.
