Swedish Gingerbread -- 9/6/02

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 cup fermented cream or sour cream
  • 2 tbsp orange marmalade
  • 10 almonds, chopped

Mix butter with brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs and remaining ingredients until thoroughly mixed.

Pour into a buttered and floured 8x8-inch baking pan.

Bake at 325 degrees for about 1 hour.

Invert on cake rack and let stand until cold.

Cut into 16 squares.
