WOODLAND, Calif. -- A Yolo County judge has issued an interim suspension order against Dr. Mark Anderson, a dentist in Woodland accused of inappropriately touching his patients. The interim suspension order on Anderson temporarily suspends his license to practice dentistry. The other dentists in Anderson's office can continue to see patients, but Anderson cannot, at least until his next administrative hearing on Oct. 11.
Anderson did not appear before the administrative law judge Friday.Woodland police arrested Anderson two weeks ago, but he was allowed to keep seeing patients. The state argued Friday that a total of 26 women have come forward, alleging sexual misconduct by Anderson. In one case described Friday in court, Anderson was fitting a patient for a splint when he allegedly asked her if she had gotten a breast augmentation. She responded in the positive, but was shocked by the question.Anderson allegedly put both hands under her shirt and started caressing the top and side portions of her breasts, then stated, "they did a good job, you can't even feel the bags."Then, Anderson allegedly inserted his other hand under her bra and began fondling her breasts for about 10 seconds.Anderson has been a licensed dentist for 20 years.
