SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A man who was stabbed while riding his bike home from church in 2006 has died, Sacramento police said.

Robert Wright was 64 years old when he was assaulted on Eleanor Avenue by an unknown Hispanic man who stabbed him in the back, injuring his spleen and diaphragm, Sgt. Matt Young said.

Wright had several surgeries and complications over the years.

He died Feb. 5.

The coroner's office said Wright's death was because of the 2006 stabbing.

The suspect has never been found.
