AUBURN, Calif. -- A trial can continue for a nanny accused of shaking a Roseville baby to death, despite an unusual campaign mailer, a Placer County judge said.Nanny Veronica Martinez Salcedo wanted a mistrial because of a message in the mailer from Lorena Juceam, the mother of Hannah Rose Juceam. The judge ruled that jurors had not been tainted by the mailer.
The campaign mailer was sent by Doug Ose in his unsuccessful bid for Congress.Salcedo is accused of shaking Hannah Rose. The child died in 2006.A mistrial was declared last year in the first trial.
