SACRAMENTO -- The 10th Annual Marysville Peach Festival kicked off in historic downtown Marysville Saturday.

Formerly known as the California Peach Festival, the event is free to the public and includes food, entertainment, arts and crafts. Many of the local merchants will be showcasing special peach items.

The annual festivities, which draws more than 40,000 visitors each year, began as a small street event in 1999.

The festivities will be held on D Street between 1st and 6th streets in downtown Marysville from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
