Police: Utah Arrests Linked To El Dorado Search

2 Taken Into Custody At Motel 6

Two people have been taken into custody in Salt Lake City in connection with the mysterious recent disappearance of two people in the Georgetown area of El Dorado County, a television station reported.

The pair, who were not immediately identified, were found at a Motel 6, KSL television reported.

Authorities in El Dorado County have been looking for 47-year-old Patricia Ann Presba, who disappeared this week. Her husband, Ron Presba, disappeared last month.

KSL said agents from the Utah Division of Motor Vehicle Enforcement were running license plates at the Motel 6 at 1900 West and North Temple when police said they found a 2003 Hyundai wanted in connection with the El Dorado County disappearances.

Salt Lake City police officers were called to assist. Officers from the DMV arrested a woman as she came out of her motel room and headed toward the car. The man was arrested in his room shortly afterward without incident, KSL reported.

The man and woman were both taken to a hospital, KSL said. The woman had cuts on her body, and the man had gunshot wounds. Investigators aren't sure how they were injured or how long ago they were injured.

Deputies were dispatched to Presba's home near Georgetown on Thursday and found the front door ajar and what had appeared to be blood on it. They checked the inside of the residence and noted more blood. No one was found inside.

Firefighters in late June found charred remains in a burned vehicle believed to those of Ron Presba. Investigators are still waiting for DNA results to positively identify the body.

El Dorado County investigators earlier said that Patricia Presba was known to travel in a blue or green 2003 Hyundai Tiburon. She was also known to associate with a man named Jaime Ramos.

According to the California Department of Motor Vehicles, the license plate on the car found in Salt Lake City is registered to Ramos.

Anybody with information may call the sheriff's office at 530-621-6600. KSL television's Alex Cabrero and Marc Giauque contributed to this story.
