Stockton, Manteca To Be Sprayed For West Nile

Spraying In Response To Positive Cases Of West Nile Virus

Aerial spraying to fight the West Nile virus will take place in Stockton starting Wednesday, officials said.

The San Joaquin County and Vector Control District will spray the area that is bordered by Eight Mile Road, Charter Way, Interstate 5 and Airport Lane (map) starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, officials said.

Aerial spraying will start in Manteca on Thursday in the area that is bordered by Lathrop Road, the Stanislaus County line, McKinley Avenue and Main Street (map).

There have currently been 52 dead birds and 83 mosquito samples that have tested positive for West Nile virus in San Joaquin County in 2008, officials said.
