STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. -- Dozens of residents from Oakdale and Riverbank are meeting this week after hearing that that a violent sex offender is moving into their neighborhood.Darren Kawamoto, 44, doesn't have a permanent home and is registered as a transient in both Oakdale and Riverbank.His crimes include sodomy and oral copulation with a victim younger than 14.
Police from both cities are holding a public meeting Tuesday night to discuss sex offenders and safety tips.There are a total of 38 registered sex offenders in Oakdale and 28 in Riverbank.
