UPDATED: 11:15 pm PST December 3, 2008

Three people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a man found in the trunk of a car, sheriff's officials said Wednesday.

Curtis Chapman, 20, Richard Hundley, 20, and Tammy Turney, 44, were all arrested in connection with the death of David Barreda, 33.

Barreda, who is from Vallejo and is also known as "Johnny Vidal" or "King Rizz," was found dead in the trunk of a 1996 Ford Taurus on Nov. 26, deputies said.

The car was parked on 40th Street in Sacramento and when deputies arrived at the scene they found blood leaking from the trunk.

The Sacramento County Coroner's Office determined that Barreda's death was caused by a gunshot wound, but said they do not believe he was killed at the location where the vehicle and body were found.

A motive for the killing has not yet been established, officials said.
