Judge: Murder Suspect Not Fit For Trial

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- A Santa Maria man charged with killing four people, including his father, at an auto salvage yard is not mentally fit for trial, a judge said.Superior Court Judge James Rigali suspended criminal proceedings against 32-year-old Lee Isaac Bedwell Leeds, who was the caretaker at Black Road Auto when the four people were shot to death on March 18.Golden "Dave" Duboise, Ricardo Leal, Terry Majan and Robert Leeds, the defendant's 66-year-old father, were shot to death.
The defendant's lawyer Robert Ikola said Leeds hasn't been taking medications for schizophrenia.The judge ordered him Wednesday to take his drugs and sent him to Patton State Hospital until it is determined he can understand the charges against him.
