HIT-AND-RUN

Hit-And-Run Victim Says He Can't Recall Event

Man, 78, Hit By Vehicle Sunday, Police Say

POSTED: 9:02 pm PST December 4, 2008
UPDATED: 10:42 pm PST December 4, 2008

A 78-year-old man involved in a recent hit-and-run said he has no memory of the incident taking place.

Ken Bandow was taking a walk in his neighborhood during the early-morning hours on Sunday.

Bandow said everything was going fine for the first part of his walk, but his memory is hitting a blank on what happened during the second half.

Police said Bandow was part of a hit-and-run that was so violent, his tennis shoes were scraped off like someone had hit and then dragged him.

"All these things occurred, and basically I don't remember them," Bandow said.

Bandow also suffered a broken wrist and has cuts and bruises all over his body.

Police said they think Bandow was hit somewhere near his home.

Bandow and police said they hope by shedding some light on what happened they can find the person responsible.
