Child Deaths In Hot Vehicles Targeted By CHP

As summer approaches, the California Highway Patrol is warning people about the dangers of leaving children alone in hot vehicles.

Child In Hot Car Safety

On Tuesday the CHP teamed up with the organization For Our Kids Sake to show support for the enforcement of "Kaitlyn's Law." The law was named for the founder of the organization's 6-month-old daughter, who died when a babysitter left the child alone for 2 hours in a hot car.

Tuesday's press conference was part of a new statewide campaign to raise awareness of "Kaitlyn's Law," which prohibits leaving a child unattended inside a motor vehicle.
