DAVIS, Calif. -- Fire crews in Davis have contained a fire burning near Highway 113.
The fire jumped the highway and burned on both sides of the roadway between Covell and Russell boulevards. Highway 113 was shut down in the area for a time but has since reopened.
The blaze burned up to the back fences of several nearby homes.Several Davis streets were closed Friday afternoon as a result of the fire. Those streets include Russell Boulevard from Anderson to Arlington, Sycamore between Russell and West 8th, and Peach Street.A firefighter and another person were reportedely injured and were taken to an area hospital.
