RUMSEY, Calif. -- Crews are battling a wildfire in a remote area of Yolo County.
KCRA's John Hamilton in LiveCopter 3 reported that the fire has burned more than 2,000 acres very rugged terrain in Rumsey Canyon south of the town of Rumsey.
Hamilton said that eight air tankers and six helicopters have been ordered to the area to battle the blaze. Ground crews are also headed to the fire.In addition to the flames, fire crews are also dealing with high winds in the area.The area is very remote and no structures are believed to be threatened.The fire started about 8:30 p.m. Sunday. It's not known what sparked the blaze.As of noon Monday, the fire was burning to the southwest toward the Napa County line.
