SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A security screener in Sacramento has been arrested after being accused of stealing money from a passenger's luggage. Transportation Security Administration investigators say they caught Forrest Foote, 55, on surveillance video stealing cash from a golf bag.
"An operation was put into play, and he was essentially caught and immediately terminated," said TSA spokesman Jeff Holmgren. Foote now faces charges of petty theft as well as possession of drugs. Some travelers passing through Sacramento that KCRA 3 talked with said they are concerned about security at airports across the United States. "It's scary because you don't know what they are going to take from you, and you are not going to realize it until you get home," said traveler Davina Azizzadeh. "If posible, I would like to stand there and watch them to make sure they are not taking anything," said traveler Alla Rolbin. The TSA says only a small number of screeners have caused problems. Foote is due in court next week.
