Woman Suspected In Bank Robberies Captured

ROSEVILLE, Calif. -- A woman who is suspected of robbing two banks in Roseville since Saturday, and possibly a third in Rocklin, was arrested Tuesday night, according to authorities.
Cathy Lynn Longley, 39, of San Jose, was arrested by Roseville police at the Jackson Rancheria Casino.

According to a Roseville Police Department news release, "casino staff recognized the woman as a customer after seeing bank video surveillance photos of her in the news media. The casino management notified their tribal police officers, who then began watching the casino property for the woman. Eventually, they spotted her and notified Roseville Police Department detectives."Longley is suspected of robbing the Bank of America at the Roseville Square on July 18. Authorities also believe she may have robbed a U.S. Bank branch located inside a Safeway store on Sunrise Avenue on July 16, and several other banks in the Bay and Central Coast areas. During the robberies, the culprit allegedly presented a bank employee with a note demanding money, then left on foot with cash. No weapon or vehicle was seen, according to the news release. Longley has been booked into the Placer County Jail on suspicion of robbery and being held on $950,000 bail, according to the release.
