Two students have been arrested after two female students reported being sexually assaulted on a Northern California high school campus.

Three other juveniles have been arrested for allegedly threatening one of the victims if she reported being attacked, officials said.

On Sept. 28, detectives from the Elk Grove Police Department arrested two suspects in connection with a sexual assault that occurred on the Laguna Creek High School campus.

After normal school hours, on the last day of school, June 1, the suspects allegedly lured a 15-year-old victim into a room adjacent to the gym, forced her to the ground and forcefully raped her. The attack went unreported until last week.

At the time of the report, the victim said that the same suspects attempted to lure her into the same area, apparently to victimize her again. This attempt occurred at the beginning of this school year.

On Friday, detectives identified and arrested two black male juveniles, ages 16 and 17, for the rape.

On Sept. 28, a second victim, describing a similar attack, reported the attack to the Elk Grove Police Department. The victim said that she was lured into the same room on Sept. 26 after school hours and sexually assaulted by four to five black male juveniles.

The juveniles arrested are believed to have been involved in that attack also, authorities said.

Investigators fear that there may be more suspects involved and more victims who have yet to come forward.

The school district sent a letter home to parents Tuesday, telling them about the reported assaults and encouraging them to attend a community meeting set for Wednesday evening.

That meeting is scheduled to be held at 6 p.m. in the school's multipurpose room.

Officials said that there are no plans for changes to campus security.

"Right now, it is somewhat premature to develop additional safety procedure when we need to ascertain what actually happened and how our safety procedures are working currently," Elk Grove Schools chief of staff Dr. Martin Cavanaugh said.

The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are looking for anyone with information on this or any other similar incidents.

Detectives have not identified additional victims. They are urging parents to talk to their children to determine if they have information on these or any other similar attacks.

Anyone with information should contact the Elk Grove Police Department at (916) 875-0411.

The identities of the suspects and victims will not be released, due to the nature of the crime and the ages of all involved.
