Lodi Student Found At Bottom Of Pool

Classmate Thought Body Was A Towel

A Lodi high school student has died after classmates found him at the bottom of a swimming pool Friday.

The Today High School senior was found when, according to authorities, a student in physical education class thought he saw a towel at the bottom of the pool and dove down to retrieve it. It turned out to be a classmate.

Several students helped pull the body from the bottom of the pool. Staff members performed CPR.

Firefighters arrived and transported the teen to Lodi Memorial Hospital, where he did not regain consciousness.

He died early Saturday.
