SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A former exotic dancer, who received a flurry of media attention because her daughter was expelled from Capital Christian School in Sacramento, now has a new job as a DJ.
Christina Silvas started her job Friday morning on "the morning rave" for 107.9 "the end."
Silvas told the school she would quit her job as a dancer for the next three weeks so her daughter could finish out the school year. She said that she never intended to be a dancer for the long term.
"It was just something I was doing to provide for my daughter. And my main goal was to look out for her best interests. So I stopped dancing just like I started dancing, to do what's best for her," Silvas said.
Silvas said that she's enjoying her new job, even though she has very little experience in radio.
The station said that if things go well, it could be a permanent job for Silvas.
