SMUD Announces Outage Locations

Folsom, Fair Oaks Hit Hardest

SACRAMENTO, Updated 11:44 a.m. PST January 23, 2001 -- Cal-ISO warning that more rotating blackouts were possible Tuesday , but now thousands of Sacramento Municipal Utility District customers will get an early warning before the power goes out.

SMUD officials say that they are responding to the requests of customers who want to be better prepared for the blackouts.

SMUD is announcing the general neighborhoods most likely to be affected by the outages prior to their occurrences.

The general neighborhoods most likely to be hit are large portions of Fair Oaks and Folsom, with smaller portions of Citrus Heights, Orangevale, Rancho Cordova and Carmichael.
