The A's top prospects will remain in Sacramento at least through 2006. Oakland has been the River Cats' major league affiliate for all five seasons since the former Vancouver Americans moved to Sacramento in 2000.

Loaded with prospects from the A's superb farm system, the River Cats have won the last two PCL championships and four division titles in the last five years, compiling a league-best record of 402-318.

Barry Zito, Mark Mulder, Rich Harden, Bobby Crosby, Eric Hinske and Mark Bellhorn are among the former Oakland farmhands who played in Sacramento.

Sacramento also draws some of the minor leagues' biggest crowds to Raley Field, which will host the 2005 Triple-A All-Star game.

Oakland's Triple-A affiliates have won five of the last nine PCL titles.
