Student is assigned to a news producer to work 20 hours per week on various shifts. This position is assigned to students interested in news production.

Qualifications: Student should be of junior standing, with some core course work in a communications, journalism or realted field. No prior experience is necessary. Student must have excellent communication skills and be highly motivated.

Duties: The student works directly with a news producer, specifically the weekday noon or weekend producer, performing news production functions including preparing fonts, taking and logging news feeds, and answering telephones. There is a strong emphasis on story research and writing in this position. Some general news assistant functions will be performed in this position.
